Status One killed, two captured; their pilots fled into the ceiling
First appearance Walkers 08

Overview

While the team was inside the station, they saw three men in gray maintenance uniforms looking over the team's cars in the parking lot. The men claimed they needed the substation keys kept at the station. When told they would be searched, one drew a gun (Walkers 08). Their utility bags held guns, plastic sheeting and bungee cords, like the sheet plastic on the bodies in the gym ceiling at Ballard High School, which the team read as a cleanup crew.

History

The firefight (Walkers 08)

Kurt drew fast enough that the gunman's shot went wide, and shot him through the arm. The replica Andrew, played by Rita, rolled a 3, panicked, shattered a window of Betsy with a stray round, and was hit in the shoulder (see Andrew Howard (duplicate)). The gunman was shot dead with a head wound that McManley later swabbed and the team credited to the Biz, while the other two ran. Kurt rammed them with Betsy against the wrought-iron parking-lot gates and restrained them. Both stayed silent, and Andre said that "the facade of acting like a person has just completely dropped away" (Walkers 08).

Donald McManley examined the survivors, who had a slightly high body temperature, irregular pupils and bad teeth. The dead man's autopsy showed no stomach, about eight feet of intestine, a small fatty liver and green fluid in the head wound, and his skull held a non-human brain-like organ; see Pilot and host biology and Pilot organ in Tupperware. Later the two prisoners were slumped and empty-headed, and a flashlight through an eye showed light at the back of the mouth: their pilots had fled into the drop ceiling.

Trivia

  • Kurt fetched a bone saw from the morgue in a trash-bag suit and showered afterwards in the locker room, smelling of Old Spice and cadaver (Walkers 08).
  • In Roulet Estate 01 Rita (as Andrew) wonders whether the team was lured out there by "whoever did the cleanup after in Utah". The episode does not connect this to the three men; compare Hazmat cleanup teams.
