Description¶
Hooper wears a cowboy hat and a bolo tie set with Santa Fe gemstones that he says his "grandpappy" gave him. He is visibly drunk, uses phrases such as "very mentionable" and "namby-pamby", and ends his scene with a sloppy salute. His wife, whose hand carries about forty rings, waits in the car (Appalachia 07).
History¶
Hooper is at the Spud Hut counter when the team arrives. He orders a Hawaiian luau spud, a clam chowder spud for his wife and, in a lowered voice, one of the "special taco, taco spuds" from the secret menu, which turns out to have a whole octopus on top. He greets the team as "fellow Spud Hut aficionados" and, once he has his order, begs them not to say he told them about the secret menu (Appalachia 07).
He tells them that he sells chemistry sets, but not the "namby-pamby" safe kind: he has a storage facility full of dangerous ones from the 1960s, and "they got uranium in them." Kurt asks for a business card as an off-the-books source, and Hooper hands one over with a drunken magician's flourish, introducing himself as "Eduardo Hooper, at your service". The Biz already has a card. His wife calls him back to the car and he leaves (Appalachia 07).
Items¶
- Hooper's business card: a contact for dangerous 1960s chemistry sets, taken by Kurt (Appalachia 07).
