Oryol crash site¶
The Oryol crash site is a farm site in Oryol Oblast, Russia, where a triangular craft has crashed into and destroyed a farmhouse. The Russian army has put up a tent over it, and in Radford Horrors 04 Dick "The Biz" Baxter accompanies President Boris Yeltsin there.

Description¶
A tent covers the partly excavated triangular craft beside the destroyed farmhouse; the helicopter lands in a fallow field nearby (Radford Horrors 04). The cold open of Radford Horrors 04 pans over frozen countryside in the dark to work lights and the buried triangular craft, where the farmhouse used to be, as the army erects a tent (Radford Horrors 04).
Behind a double-walled plastic curtain under arc lamps lies the craft, a little smaller than the space shuttle, which annihilated the farmhouse. The tent is entered through an airlock (Radford Horrors 04).
History of events there¶
The destination¶
In Radford Horrors 03 Yeltsin wakes the Biz and tells him in the hotel lobby that there has been "an unusual aircraft crash in Oryol Oblast" he wants him to see. The convoy is ambushed on the road before it can reach the site, and the Biz saves the president (Radford Horrors 03). See Hotel Metropol and Convoy ambushers.
The visit¶
After a night in a guarded hospital room, the Biz is taken to see the president, who is sutured but gracious. The Biz then rides a helicopter with Yeltsin's hospital bed through the night to the crash site, takes a jeep to the tent, and after about forty minutes on a folding chair helps push the bed through the airlock into the craft room (Radford Horrors 04).
Inside the tent are a shirtless Russian soldier in one bed and "about 55% of a guy" in the other, with one arm missing and everything below the navel gone, the two connected by tubes exchanging blood, urine and other fluids. The being is hairless, with wrong teeth and jaw, wide-set eyes and pale, mottled skin. It reminds the Biz, much more so, of the subtle change over Andrew Howard since he died (Radford Horrors 04). See Crash survivor.
Yeltsin has doctors wake the being with a syringe. Asked why it is here, it answers "Survey." Asked about its people, it says "Not aliens. The opposite of aliens," and then "Servitors... need resources." Doctors warn that pushing further is very risky, so Yeltsin ends it. In private, Yeltsin asks the Biz for insights and notes that the being accepts O-negative blood (Radford Horrors 04). See Servitors.
What remains unknown¶
The episodes do not explain what servitors are, what resources they need, or what Yeltsin does next (Radford Horrors 04).
