Overview¶
Library staff call both child services and Animal Control "just to cover our bases" after Derk eats just under half the snack table in the children's room of the Public Library, among crying toddlers. The responders arrive saying they "got a call about some kind of shaved baboon" and ask someone to point them to the baboon. (Philosopher's Fist)
History¶
Mirabeth sends Derk off along the emergency-exit signs, tears the butcher-paper drawing off the floor and walks past Animal Control on her way out. During her debriefing, a grizzled detective asks whether she had anything to do with "an animal control call to a public library that ended in a riot." He says Animal Control "was sick of prank calls," and Mirabeth observes that there was no animal there. The riot is never explained. (Philosopher's Fist)
