| First appearance | Walkers 01 (recounted by Jan) |
Description¶
Jan describes him as Hispanic, over 50, with close-cropped hair that was gray, wearing a black suit and carrying NSA ID. Jan did not keep or remember the name on the card (Walkers 01).
History¶
The only account is Jan's, told to Kurt at the CIA black site Omaha after the events of the Dahlonega case. About five years earlier, drunk and driving in the Georgia countryside at night, Jan hit and killed a man in a black suit who was crossing the highway. He searched the body, found the NSA identification, put the man in the passenger seat of his own car, and drove it into a lake ("No body, no crime"). In the man's van he heard a strange noise and found an ape woman strapped to a gurney and being fed drugs. He took her, saw a way to make money, and named her Shelly. She became the start of the breeding program that produced the ape-men (Walkers 01).
Later in the episode, Dante has Kurt ask Jan roughly where the collision happened so that the car might be found, and Andre tells him he gets the name of the lake (Walkers 01). The name is not spoken at the table.
The collision happened long before the campaign began and was never played. It is known only from Jan's account in the epilogue of the arc.
Unresolved¶
- Why a man with NSA identification had a drugged ape woman in his van, and what she is. Dante notes after the interview that this answers nothing about her origin.
- Which lake holds the car.
- Whether he is connected to the man in a black suit the team hit on a road earlier in the campaign, who carried a flashlight that burns things. Dante raises the link and the players joke that men in black suits keep walking into the road at night, and that they might be aliens unaware of Earth customs. Nobody in the episodes confirms a connection (Walkers 01).
