Description

He is a middle-aged man working the counter ("Next, one at a time, please. What's the name?"). He is cooperative but increasingly nervous as the questions go on (Radford Horror 02).

History

After the interview with Dr. Lori, Kurt Larson and the agents visit the pharmacy with the bottle of Vicodin found in Amanda's room. The pharmacist confirms the computer holds a record of Vicodin for Amanda Lucky under Dr. Lori, entered about a year earlier, started about four months after her Xanax and filled regularly since. He explains that prescriptions are phoned in, logged in a paper book, then entered into the computer, and that anyone with the password could alter the computer records. Most of the pharmacy's Vicodin, he says, goes to Lori's older teenage patients. He will not name suspects among the stock-room teenagers, but says he would never let Dean Lawson near the store; McCready, he adds, "works up at his folks' place," and he rules out the Whateley boys and the Nichols girl.

He calls his boss, then goes to the back to look for the paper original. When he returns fifteen or twenty minutes later he says he cannot talk to them. Kurt makes a Manipulate Someone roll (a 10) and the pharmacist tells him, off the record, that he cannot find the paper copy, which he calls "a big problem." Kurt leaves him the number of the Pay n' Stay (Radford Horror 02).

In Radford Horror 05, Molly Underhill tells the team that Mr. Augustine is one of the town's pharmacists as well as a romance novelist, and Dante names him prime suspect for the stolen paperwork. When Kurt asks Augustine about the prescriptions, Augustine says he filled the prescription for Amanda "a couple of times" and that he has already been told of the "record error" (Radford Horror 05). See Derek Augustine.

Trivia

  • It is never established whether the counter pharmacist of Radford Horror 02 is Derek Augustine or one of his colleagues; the team suspects Augustine because of the paperwork, but Andre never says so.
  • The pharmacy's brand is never named; Ezra jokes that it could be a Walgreens or a grocery-store pharmacy.
