Description¶
The cold open of Walkers 07 takes place in a dim room full of metal stock tanks of dark liquid, crisscrossed with hoses and wires, with the murmur of voices and the squeak of shoes in the distance. The camera stops at the last tank, and Huell Kendrick's face rises from the liquid and opens its bloodshot eyes. At the table this prompted Rita's joke that Zack would "end up having to play like four Huells in the next chapter."
Origin¶
At the end of the gym scene in Walkers 07, after Andrew is overcome by the tendrils, Andre gives Rita a private handout and explains that the faction clones people from tissue samples: Andrew Howard's from the ring that cut him on the mayor's hand, and Huell's from the bite of the "homeless" man in Ballard (the homeless biter). Only Rita knows this at the table at the time. The bite itself happened in Walkers 06. See Replication.
History¶
The Huell clone does not appear again until the finale. In Walkers 09, during the fight outside the community center, a naked copy of Huell reaches up from below, pulls Huell off his horse and crawls on top of him with tendrils coming from its mouth. Zack rolls exactly a 10 on Kick Some Ass and frees himself, though one tendril enters his mouth for an instant and he gets a flash of the way his childhood bedroom smells. Huell's horse stomps the clone while it clings to his leg. The duplicate Andrew, played by Rita, shoots it, and the horse puts a hoof through its head.
