Description¶
A postcard-sized envelope wrapped in aluminum foil comes inside a padded envelope. It holds a letter and a hand-drawn pencil sketch of some trees. The text of the letter is never read out; according to Andrew it describes a classic case of two people being abused by the Greys (Roulet Estate 01).
History¶
On Christmas Eve 1992, Big Bill gives Andrew a padded envelope with his name scrawled on it and no return address, which an FBI courier asked him to drop off. Rita (as Andrew) asks the others, "Hey, guys, you think this might kill me?" before opening it. Andrew peels back the foil in the slush outside the office, and as he starts to read, the scene smash-cuts to the hungover agents waking in the Rhode Island house (Roulet Estate 01).
Andrew wakes with the letter and has no memory of how the team got to the house. He circulates it among the others and later uses the marked-up map in the car to check that they are at the address on it. Diane says she was woken at unprofessional hours and told to drive them to Rhode Island, and that they kept talking about finding proof for Ross Perot. In the library Andrew tells Kurt that, "just like the letter said," they have "a classic case of two people being abused by the Greys" (Roulet Estate 01).
In Roulet Estate 02, Andre's recap explains that someone from the Keely Network message boards who knew Andrew had written that their friend Margaret Roulet had been experiencing "visitations" and then vanished. The sender is never identified (Roulet Estate 02).
Diane remembers that Andrew was very excited about the shape of the UFOs, which matched what the team had seen before, and she believes he took a phone call at the bar that set the whole trip off, though she does not know what it said. Andre clarifies in the recap that the black triangles were in the sketch (Roulet Estate 01, Roulet Estate 02).
