Description

The diary is described only as a shell: its cover remains but all its pages have been removed (Radford Horror 01).

Properties

The diary has no supernatural properties. It matters as a clue that Amanda, or someone else, took pains to remove her own record.

History

  • Discovery. In the Lucky house, Andrew (Investigate a Mystery, 9 with a +1) finds the diary with its pages removed. Alongside it, Kurt finds a hollow bedpost holding Xanax and Vicodin prescribed to Amanda by Dr. Lori (see Amanda's prescriptions) and a loosened drainpipe above the window. The team deduces that she left voluntarily, climbing up onto the roof (Radford Horror 01).
  • The parents. Before leaving, Kurt asks Amanda's parents whether anything is missing. They say no money or toothbrush is gone, and they are surprised to hear the diary has been vandalized, since they knew she used it (Radford Horror 01).
  • Phoebe's diary. In Radford Horror 05, Kurt searches Phoebe Augustine's room and skims her diary. It is a separate, intact diary; it tells him that Amanda was seeing someone besides Dean Lawson and that the diary's writer did not like Dean (Radford Horror 05).

What remains unknown

  • Who removed the pages, and why.
