Kurt's P90¶
Kurt's P90 is the FN P90 submachine gun, nicknamed "Bessie," that Kurt Larson acquires before the Utah trip and carries throughout the Ballard case, where it is coveted, repeatedly dropped, lent out and finally carried into the last battle. (Walkers 01)

Description¶
A compact FN P90 submachine gun. Walt calls it "a space gun" and it looks to him like a toy. Dante's Kurt says it "fits into a handbag" and fires "real little bullets." Zack's Huell calls it a bullpup. (Walkers 04, Walkers 06)
History¶
Acquisition. In Walkers 01, during downtime, Dante announces that he wants "a fucking P90," complaining that the standard sidearm and "this revolver" can "go fuck itself." Andre asks when the P90 came out (Dante says around 1986) and confirms that Kurt has sourced one. Kurt then looks for a holster he likes, since the P90 rubs his armpit. (Walkers 01)
Travel. The team chooses to fly to Utah. Kurt leaves his claymores behind but, because he has a license for it, keeps the P90. (Walkers 02)
Walt's envy. Walt "Coyote" Murphy falls in love with the P90 when he arrives for his sheep patrol, asking to hold it and wishing aloud that he could shoot Nerf darts out of it. Dante's Kurt asks him: "You ever just sat there holding down the trigger and liquefied a whole pumpkin?" Walt replies that he hasn't, and that this "might be a shortcoming." (Walkers 04)
The night event. During the disturbance in Walkers 05, Kurt wakes believing he is in Saigon, with the P90 in hand ("Your pizza's here, ma'am," Dante jokes). He drops the P90 more than once; Huell keeps handing it back ("you dropped your P90 again"), and Kurt resolves to put the strap on. (Walkers 05)
Loan to Huell. In Walkers 06 Huell asks "Can I buy your P90?" and Kurt lends it with the words "just treat Bessie right." Huell takes it to his solo scene at the Ballard grocery store and keeps a hand on it as he enters the back break room. He returns after a little over an hour with a bloody bandage around his hand and gives the gun back, and Kurt asks whether it has been used. Huell later offers it to Andrew before the gym meeting, and Andrew declines. (Walkers 06)
The intruder. In Walkers 07, Kurt shoots the naked intruder in the double-wide in the foot with a short burst from the P90 (Kick Some Ass, an 8). It does 2 harm and the intruder shows no reaction, then chokes Kurt. (Walkers 07)
Final battle. In Walkers 09 Kurt strips the metal from himself before the convoy moves in, but keeps the P90 in hand while the holster on his back comes off. In the cavern he later puts it to the head of the captured runner who turns out to be the real Howard, a Manipulate Someone roll. (Walkers 09)
Trivia¶
- "Bessie" is Dante's name for the gun; the loaner car is Betsy.
