Description¶
Sloth carries a pistol on his belt. Another Chaser, a tall, blond, all-American man, says that Sloth "doesn't look like it, but he was a competitive sharpshooter in his youth" (Appalachia 01). Sloth speaks for the group when the team first meets them.
History¶
In Appalachia 01 Sloth introduces himself, Eddie Jones, Vanessa, Delilah and Harvey. He explains the group's plan to search the zone between the town sightings and the sightings around Auraria, and, when Dante's Kurt warns him that people have gone missing in the woods, answers that "you gotta respect the power of nature" and pats his pistol.
In Appalachia 02 he joins the Chasers on the woods trail, where he tells Harvey to get down off Andrew and remarks that the dog does not usually like strangers. He sides against the agents' overthinking of the creature's tracks, and pushes hard for the group to go to McDonald's.
In Appalachia 07 he is at the Original Spud Hut, where he asks Andrew for his dog back and orders the buffalo cauliflower spud with blue cheese.
Trivia¶
- Sloth's real name, Norville Rutger, comes up only in Appalachia 07, where it is spoken in passing and is of uncertain spelling (Appalachia 07).
