The Drugged Water¶
The Drugged Water is the stored water in the Roulet House, which gives the agents hallucinations after they drink it.
| Type | Lore (hazard) |
| Aliases | hallucination water; toilet-tank water |
| Location | Roulet House |
| First appearance | Roulet Estate 02 |
Description¶
The house has no running water, but the toilet tanks and the water heater still hold some. In Roulet Estate 01, Dante (as Kurt) opens a toilet tank, finds water with some algae growing in it, and drinks it; the others are offered the same, and Kurt drinks more during the day. In Roulet Estate 02 the agents fill bottles from the tanks for their hike (Roulet Estate 01, Roulet Estate 02).
Effects¶
- In the basement, Kurt hallucinates veiny hands grabbing his wrists and a Vietnamese prison guard, fires into the trash pit, and comes to curled up on the floor, saying he was "back in Saigon there for a second". He suspects he is "tripping balls" but does not remember taking anything (Roulet Estate 02).
- Climbing down the chimney, Andrew hallucinates that the bricks turn into muscle that swallows him (Roulet Estate 02).
- After his hallucination, Andrew realizes that the toilet-tank water tastes weird, and not only from the algae. The water-heater water tastes the same, so the agents stop drinking it. Andrew mimes a warning to the monk, who has a water bottle of his own; Zack voices the monk's reaction to the pantomime as "Ah, perverts" (Roulet Estate 02).
- In Roulet Estate 03, the agents are still somewhat hungover and feeling "a little bit weird", and Dante (as Kurt) drinks coffee in hopes of flushing the hallucinogens out of his system (Roulet Estate 03).
Theories¶
Andrew tells the monk by gesture that the person in the attic was probably drugging the sleeping occupants as well. The green slurry found in the lair is a concentrated peyote preparation, but no one in the episodes connects it to the water, and the drug in the water is never named. It is also never established how the water was dosed, or whether it explains the Roulets' "visitations" (Roulet Estate 02). By the end of Roulet Estate 02 Dante jokes that the agents may simply be "tripping balls off of toilet water" and the "alien" a regular serial killer, even though several of them saw a grey alien (Roulet Estate 02).
