Roosevelt police station¶
The Roosevelt police station is the headquarters of the Roosevelt Police Department in Roosevelt, Utah: first the place where the wrecked rental car is kept and Yusuf Ansari is pressured into a false confession, and later the site of a massacre, a hideout for the task force, and the morgue of salted bodies where the real Andrew Howard wakes.

Description¶
A full police station, larger than anything in Ballard. It has a front lobby with a glass door, cells, an armory, a morgue, a break room, a conference room, a basement with a generator, and a parking lot behind a gate (Walkers 08). The garage holds the wreck. The interrogation room doubles as the lunchroom, with a handcuff bar on the table, and smells of ham (Walkers 06).
History of events there¶
The wreck. In Walkers 05 the team finds the pancaked rental (Plymouth Voyager) tucked into the garage. A young officer tells them the police have dusted it and found prints only on the inside, and that a manhunt is on because "there's only so many places that can crush a car". Kurt tests it with loose screws and finds it magnetic. The officer eventually names a local junkyard owner with a car crusher and a magnetic crane, and says the police will bring him in and "really sweat him".
Yusuf's interrogation. In Walkers 06 the junkyard owner, Yusuf Ansari, has already confessed. In the lunchroom, a hungover officer, Carl, eats Lucky Charms from a paper coffee cup and microwaves ham, and the only word anyone offers about it is "Ham." Yusuf says his crusher does not even flatten cars that thin. He confessed because the police threatened immigration trouble and offered a deal: confess, pay a fine of $10,000, and there would be no immigration problems. Kurt records the interview. Huell's pager goes off while the others talk, and Kurt phones Diane from here to check Yusuf's alibi.
The massacre. After the night of the gym, the team returns to a station with the cut chain hanging from the lot gate and the glass door locked. Inside, every officer is shot dead, each missing a small body part (a finger, toe or ear), and there are no keys. Yusuf is found alive in the cells, patched up with a shoulder wound and a missing little toe. He says, "A bunch of naked guys with shotguns just came in and started murdering everybody", that he played dead through a machine-gun burst, and that they cut a piece off of everybody, "whatever they could reach through the bars". The armory is stripped, and the morgue holds dozens of decaying bodies in plastic and rock salt (Walkers 08). See Plastic-wrapped bodies.
Fight and autopsy. Men in gray maintenance uniforms look at the team's cars in the parking lot and demand the substation keys that the station holds; a firefight follows, one man dies and others are captured. In the conference room McManley autopsies the dead man: no stomach, about eight feet of malformed intestine, and a non-human brain-like organ. He tells the team, "This is not a person. This is a vehicle. Somebody made this. And whatever you killed inside of it was its pilot." The living prisoners' pilots later flee into the drop ceiling (Walkers 08). See Pilot organ and Pilot and host biology. The basement generator has been sabotaged.
The real Andrew wakes. At the end of Walkers 08, after the other players have logged off, Andre runs a last scene for Rita alone: "So let's cut to the other Andrew Howard." Andrew is dead, then spasms back to life, naked and wrapped in plastic at the bottom of the morgue pile, as the Monstrous. The Andrew who has been with the team since the gym is the duplicate. In Walkers 09 the real Andrew shouts that he was shot in the chest and woke up under a pile of dead naked people.
Refuge. The recap that opens Walkers 09 says the team breached and cleared the station with the National Guard, from an unrecorded session (see Lost episodes). McManley, his interns and some Guardsmen wait in the station, awake because they stayed indoors, and are picked up at the end (Walkers 09).
Inhabitants¶
