First appearance Summer Service 06

Description

A large metal spray canister full of liquid, found sitting in the middle of the freeway after the creature died. The radio contact had promised to "leave you guys a little present on the road". It felt about half empty. The label read VX (Summer Service 06).

Properties

The contact described the agent as "just a poison" for the worms, developed from samples recovered after his advanced team was destroyed. He proposed dumping some of it in the ocean to deal with contaminated fish. Kurt suggested crop-dusting it after the storm, and the contact said it would not kill anything else, "probably". He also said plainly that his side would have to kill all the infected townspeople, and that it was better to do so once they no longer had special support. When Kurt asked whether it was a treatment or only a poison, the contact answered only that they had developed a toxic agent for the worms (Summer Service 06).

History

At the Marblehead checkpoint Kurt told a National Guard lieutenant that the canister was a worm cure that should kill the worms but not human tissue, and offered it for the Guard to disperse. The lieutenant had it taken to the chemist. Kurt said the team had been intercepting a splinter group of bioterrorists. After Andrew's call to Big Bill, the lieutenant questioned the team about the canister. Rita and Dante said it was an antidote found in their investigation and that its maker was unclear, though Andrew guessed the terrorists. The lieutenant said the Guard was already distributing deworming medicine and asked how the cure related to the synthetic nerve agent, which the team could not yet explain. The team's own treatment had been ivermectin (Summer Service 06).
