Minor monsters and entities: The Walkers in Skin¶
This page lists the minor creatures, sightings and unexplained phenomena of The Walkers in Skin; the main threats are the skinwalkers and the upright coyotes.
Barn snooper¶
A figure seen snooping around the barn on the Sherman Ranch. Gardner reports that a former Army Ranger on the property shot at it and believed he hit it, but investigators found no physical evidence. The shooter was the gate guard Walt, who tells the team that he gave a warning before firing and that the figure came at him "at pretty high speed"; Bigelow backs "Walt's judgment". In Walkers 04 Walt, catching Harrison in the barn, warns him that there are people with guns on the property and says, "I shot at a guy not two months ago." The episodes never say what the figure was. (Walkers 02, Walkers 04)
Burned crow¶
A crow that falls from the sky into the ranch's pig pen with no sound and no flash, carbonized: its feathers crumble, its eyes have burst and its bones are cracked open by heat. Walt suggests ball lightning, and Andrew cites the 1957 Levelland case. The party bags the crow in a dog-waste bag for McManley. That night Andrew dreams of the goose, in the form of the cremated crow, explaining radar physics. See the Levelland case. (Walkers 04)
Maggie's bright object¶
A fast bright object that Maggie the bartender saw streak past her car on the ranch's back road and shoot straight up. She thinks it was ball lightning, while the man who was with her swears they nearly got abducted. In Walkers 04 Walt also says ball lightning has been seen on the property, quiet and without a flash. The party treats it as a possible second sighting alongside the dusk event. (Walkers 03, Walkers 04)
Mothman¶
A "big moth thing" from an earlier arc that nearly killed the team and left Kurt with a scar on his neck, which he touches while joking about his "giant moth wound." The Biz calls it Mothman and cites it as the reason he is cautious about hoping for aliens. It is recalled at the bar and again in Walkers 06. See the Radford Moth. (Walkers 03, Walkers 06)
Off-brand Bigfoot¶
A creature from an earlier arc that beat Kurt up, mentioned in passing in Walkers 03 alongside the moth. See the Ape-Men. (Walkers 03)
Radar-chewing culprit¶
Something that chewed through the thick wire bundles of the ground-penetrating radar from underneath, even though the machine had been left standing upright. Kurt works this out with a successful investigation roll, and the table jokes about the goose, ape men and squirrels. Huell repairs the wiring, and the radar indicates a solid object in the coffin of Shelly Wilmarth. Nothing is ever shown doing the chewing. See ground-penetrating radar. (Walkers 06)
The eye on the roof¶
An eye watching from the roof of the big house while the party chains the squad car Betsy in front of it. Andre first describes two eyes, then amends it to one after Dante notes that the goose's eyes would be front-facing. Kurt orders everyone to back away slowly without turning their backs to the house. At about 50 feet, Nancy the goose drops from the roof, and the party runs for the house. (Walkers 05)
Tooth troll¶
Andrew's theory that the candy-crunching mayor, Wilford Hiram, has been replaced by a Scandinavian sugar-eating tooth troll. It is offered half-seriously at the table, alongside Kurt's giant sugar-eating fly and Huell's sugar-preserved something. See sugar clues. (Walkers 06)
White powder¶
A powder that falls from the sky like snow during the cleanup in Walkers 09, as silent black triangular craft pass overhead. Kurt inhales a little and gets dizzy, and everyone outside is later found unconscious. He bags a sample, in keeping with the FBI joke that scraping white powders into baggies is a core part of the job. The episodes do not explain the powder, or say whether it is the same substance that the coyote-feeding woman pours in Walkers 05. See black triangular craft. (Walkers 09)
