Doug¶
Doug is the tendril-mouthed man of two Walkers in Skin cold opens: a large, dead-eyed trailer-dweller in the Utah desert who eats Jell-O and passes grey tendrils from his mouth, in the second case into a woman's mouth.

Name
The name "Doug" is spoken only in Walkers 06. The man in the Walkers 04 cold open is never named, but the two scenes share the same trailer details, the Jell-O, a wrapped figure in a chair and the same tendrils, so they are treated here as one man.
Description¶
In the Walkers 04 cold open, a pale, morbidly obese man in a wife beater walks through the desert with a shovel to a trailer whose lights come on automatically. The entryway holds a large cross and a mirror. He takes something from the fridge and sits in a recliner; a human-shaped figure wrapped in something shiny is propped in the other chair. He lifts a large plate of Jell-O to his chin, and fine grey tendrils spool out of his mouth onto it while his dead eyes watch the muted TV (Walkers 04).
In Walkers 06 a woman arrives at a desert trailer, takes the spare key from under a ceramic frog, and finds a pile of mail, the TV on low, cabinets of hundreds of Jell-O packages and a fridge of Jell-O plates with rotting food shoved to the back. She says, "What the fuck, Doug." She finds a human-shaped figure wrapped in black garbage bags propped in a chair, with flies audible. Then a big man in a white tank top strikes her, lifts her and kisses her. His eyes are flat black like a shark's, and grey tendrils pour from his mouth into hers while she screams (Walkers 06).
History¶
Both appearances are cold opens without the player characters, and each ends with a cut to the credits. See The show for the cold-open format. The trailer, the Jell-O and the wrapped figure recur in both scenes. The wrapped figures resemble the Plastic-wrapped bodies seen elsewhere in the arc.
What remains unknown¶
- How Doug's tendrils, the Jell-O and the sugar hoarding in Ballard relate. See Sugar clues.
- Whether he is a Skinwalker. The later Andrew Howard duplicate also extends grey tendrils from its throat into its victim's mouth (Walkers 07).
- Where the trailer is, and whether Doug is connected to the Ballard events at all.
