Description¶
A ragged man whose voice "sounded like he smoked asbestos" (Walkers 06).
History¶
At the Ballard general store, a "homeless" man in the alley asks Huell for a dollar. When Huell holds it out, the man lunges and bites. Huell's Kick Some Ass roll is double ones, a 4 with +2, a failure. The man bites Huell's wrist, shouts "Pig!", grabs the dollar and runs. The listless clerk says "we don't got homeless in Ballard," fetches a first aid kit and bandages him (Walkers 06). Huell later tells the others that if they meet a homeless person they should not give him money, and Ezra jokes that the "hobo" must be the one leaving the anonymous notes (Walkers 06).
In Walkers 07 Huell's hand is swelling from the bite (he says, "It'll buff"). A private handout to Rita explains the faction's method: it clones people from tissue samples, Andrew's from the cut made by the mayor's ring and Huell's from the "hobo bite" (Walkers 07). The bite is therefore the source of tissue for Skinwalker Huell. See Replication.
What remains unknown¶
- Who the man was, and whether he was a skinwalker or a hired or controlled person.
- What the "Pig!" outburst means, if anything.
