Ned Simpson¶
Ned Simpson is an extravagantly blond feed-store worker who builds an armored bulldozer and leads the charge on the skinwalker stronghold in the finale of The Walkers in Skin.

Description¶
Ned is blond and blue-eyed to an extravagant degree, goofy, cheerful and patriotic. His wife left him last year, and he works at a feed store. He spent about six months welding the killdozer, an armored bulldozer with mounted machine guns, a load of pipe bombs and a flamethrower (Walkers 09).
History¶
Ned first appears as a killdozer with mounted machine guns closing in behind the convoy, seen through binoculars. He announces that he "fucking knew that that whole collapse business was a ruse" and wants to fight the "communist menace." Kurt Larson slows to talk to him, calls him "an asset" in CIA terms, and pitches him to the duplicate Andrew Howard and the major, who agree to take him along. Ned gives a goofy thumbs-up and seals his welded window (Walkers 09).
When the convoy halts, Ned refuses to leave the vehicle ("I did not spend six months welding this thing to just leave it behind"), so it is stuffed with grenades, radio gear and heavy supplies. He then charges into the pile of cars at the community center, shouting "Die, commie freaks!" The killdozer circles, pulping cars and the naked skinwalkers, and later begins to levitate intermittently under the ranch's electromagnetic waves; Kurt calls out that he may want to get out soon. Afterward the party sees the killdozer up in a tree. Ned himself is not seen again (Walkers 09).
