Vanessa¶
Vanessa is a teenage member of the Circle Chasers, the Bigfoot-hunting group in Dahlonega, Georgia, who argues for an undiscovered hominid and who produces the blinking tracking device found in a pool of bear vomit.

Description¶
Vanessa is described as the shorter, chubbier woman of the group, and she wears hiking boots (Appalachia 01, Appalachia 02).
History¶
Appalachia 01¶
When the team first meets the Chasers beside their crop-circle trailer, Vanessa says the people of Auraria were "really nice" and "much nicer than that hotel guy" (Appalachia 01).
Appalachia 02¶
Vanessa and the others come out of the dark after the team hears an unearthly howl on the trail near Auraria. In the group's debate about what the creature is, Sloth and Andrew lean toward a werewolf, Eddie Jones argues for feral humans, and Vanessa dismisses Eddie's idea as dumb, arguing that Bigfoot is "clearly an undiscovered hominid living in the American forests". Kurt checks the group's footwear against the sneaker print found beside the giant footprints, and her hiking boots do not match (Appalachia 02).
Appalachia 07¶
At the Spud Hut, Vanessa runs up out of breath and gasps "Bear vomit." The Chasers explain that they found bear vomit full of blood and a blinking light, which they took with them. After the Spud Hut closes, Vanessa checks that the agents will be "cool" and invites them into the group's blacklit RV. There the Chasers hand over a Ziploc bag holding the device and describe being chased by a bear "with, like, half a face" (see Half-faced Bear). Kurt tells them it was not a bear and warns them to stay away. The Biz later reads the etching on the device: "Inventory Control, SHA Tracking, SS994-0851" (see SHA Tracking Device) (Appalachia 07).
