White Rabbit Pelt¶
The White Rabbit Pelt is the gutted skin of a white rabbit that Huell Kendrick retrieved from a treetop near the spot where the Circle Chasers filmed a rabbit being snatched.

| Aliases | rabbit pelt |
| Holder | The task force (kept in the Smith Hotel mini fridge) |
| First appearance | Appalachia 02 |
Description¶
The pelt is a white rabbit's skin with stringy meat and blood stuck to the inside and all of the internal organs gone. On a superficial inspection it looks ripped open rather than cut or chewed (Appalachia 02).
Properties¶
The pelt answered the team's question "Where did it go?" It had been carried up a tree about 100 feet from the snatch, and Andre tells the players that the creature is "very comfortable moving vertically". Kurt Larson pointed out that Gene's shoe, found in another tree, might likewise have been hung there after the incident rather than during it, and suggested the creature may return to hang its prey. Andrew's Rita-voiced verdict was that it could still be a werewolf (Appalachia 02).
History¶
In Appalachia 02 the Circle Chasers show the team a three-second VHS clip in which a flashlight darts across a trail and a rabbit is taken. The team goes to the rabbit site (see Woods Trail and Rabbit Site) to look for a blood trail. After about half an hour of searching, blood drips onto Andrew from a tree about 100 feet from where the rabbit was taken.
Zack volunteers Huell to climb. Andrew's Help Out gives Huell a +1 but exposes Andrew to danger. Huell slips, catches himself on the branch below and is racked under both arms, taking 1 harm and a cylindrical bruise along each arm. He comes down with the pelt. Kurt suggests bagging it for Donald McManley, and the team marks the map with Comstock's ridge, the road spot and the rabbit site to start building a range. That night the pelt goes into the hotel mini fridge so it will not decompose (Appalachia 02).
In Appalachia 03, when Kurt compares the map against the tunnel exit and the Spud Hut distribution center, Andre says "the rabbit thing" is nowhere near either. The pelt is not mentioned again.
