The Clown Mansion¶
The Clown Mansion is the Victorian house down the road from the Roulet estate, decorated with ivy-covered clown statues, where the agents use the kitchen phone to call the FBI.

Description¶
The mansion stands at the end of a long, winding driveway beyond a mailbox: a second large Victorian, with ivy-covered stone clown statues arranged around the driveway, a large clown head for a door knocker and a Cadillac parked outside. The table dislikes it. Zack says "Nose goes" to avoid knocking, Dante says "Hate that" about the knocker, and and Zack later calls the place the "clown dungeon". (Roulet Estate 02)
History of events there¶
With their car stolen, the agents hike down the dirt road in the afternoon snow looking for a phone or a car. At the clown mansion, Ezra (as the Biz) knocks and rolls Manipulate Someone, getting an 8, a mixed success. After a long wait, an ancient man opens the door a crack and says, "We don't want any." Andre rules that the man is quite senile and has settled into a rhythm in which he can function without understanding what is going on. The Biz flashes his badge forcefully, and the man says, "Okay, you can come in," and wanders backwards. A much younger woman, called to the door by "Who is it, Bruce?", ushers them to the kitchen phone: "Look like you're all freezing." (Roulet Estate 02)
Andrew calls Big Bill, who does not pick up. The Biz then calls the FBI's DC office, giving his name and badge number as Special Agent Dick Baxter, and reports two dead bodies at 118 Benefit Street, a stolen vehicle and shots fired by "entities unknown". The operator does not know his task force and finds no case on file, but promises a local unit to secure the scene and backup later; snow may delay it a couple of hours. Meanwhile Kurt watches the Cadillac from the window to make sure nobody tampers with it. As they leave, the agents notice that the younger woman's silk bathrobe is covered in a clown print. While using the phone, Dante also books a taxi to Pawtucket for the monk with his own money. It is sent to the Roulet house, and the monk walks back there with the agents to wait for it. See The Finnish Hare Krishna Monk. (Roulet Estate 02)
