Crash survivor

The crash survivor is the bisected, hairless non-human recovered from the triangular craft that crashed into a Russian farmhouse; he tells President Boris Yeltsin that his people are "not aliens" but "the opposite of aliens."
Type Non-human entity
Aliases Half a guy; the being
Abilities Answers questions in English when stimulated; shares fluids with a human; accepts O-negative blood
Weaknesses Barely alive; pushing him further is "very risky"
Status Alive but critical, in Russian custody (as of Radford Horrors 04)
First appearance Radford Horrors 04

Description

The survivor is about 55 percent of a person: one arm is missing and everything below the navel is gone. He is hairless and pale with wrong teeth and jaw, large eyes set too far apart and mottled subcutaneous bruising. His anatomy raises the hair on the neck of Dick "The Biz" Baxter and sets off a "wrongness" reaction. The only thing it reminds the Biz of is the subtle change over Andrew Howard since he died, "but much more so." (Radford Horrors 04)

He lies in a tent bed beside a shirtless Russian soldier, the two connected by tubes that exchange blood, urine and other fluids. (Radford Horrors 04)

Abilities

  • Answers in English when woken with a syringe; Yeltsin first tries Russian, which does not work.
  • Exchanges fluids with the soldier and accepts O-negative blood; Boris Yeltsin wonders why that would work on an alien. (Radford Horrors 04)

History

In Radford Horrors 04 the Biz, who has just saved Yeltsin from the wheat-field ambush, is flown through the night with Yeltsin's hospital bed to the Oryol crash site. Inside a double-walled plastic curtain under arc lamps is the partly excavated triangular craft, a little smaller than the space shuttle, which annihilated a farmhouse. The two beds stand in the tent beside it. (Radford Horrors 04)

Yeltsin has doctors wake the being with a syringe. In Russian, then English:

Interrogation

"Why are you here?" "Survey." "Why are your people here? The aliens." "Not aliens. The opposite of aliens." "What do you want?" "Servitors... need resources."

He then passes out. The doctors warn that pressing him further is very risky, so Yeltsin ends the questioning. (Radford Horrors 04)

Afterward Yeltsin asks the Biz for insight in private. The Biz says these are not the aliens he has dealt with: he has seen resources go through portals, but it "presented differently," and he has never heard of servitors. (Radford Horrors 04) See Servitors.

What remains unknown

His origin, what servitors are, what "resources" they need, and any relation to the Radford Moth or to Andrew's condition are all unresolved. (Radford Horrors 04)
