Description¶
In a clearing in the snowy night woods, FBI agents in yellow-lettered jackets find a naked, emaciated man hanging from a tree limb by his punctured hands. His belly is distended, and bulges ripple under the skin. He mouths silently. More similar figures hang from other trees behind him. (Radford Horrors 01)
Abilities¶
The figures are shown doing nothing beyond mouthing silently, struggling for breath, while bulges ripple under the skin of the first man's belly. (Radford Horrors 01)
History¶
The scene is a found-footage style cold open. Agents sprint through the woods with bouncing flashlights while something swoops overhead and picks them off. They reach the clearing and see the hanging men, and one agent at its edge is then lifted and drained by a hidden shape. See Radford woods predators. Unusually, the cold open does not cut to the credits: Andre says "This time we don't cut to credits," and it runs straight into the Biz's scene in Moscow. (Radford Horrors 01)
After the credits, Andre tells the table the president put together a handpicked task force to follow up on the PCs, and the players realize the dead agents were that team, the Missing FBI task force. Andre calls the first Radford case "a UFO, and then it was actually a giant moth," adding, "There was no man element. It was just moth." The episode does not say whether the hanging figures and the woods predators are connected to the Radford Moth. (Radford Horrors 01)
What remains unknown¶
It is never established whether the figures are victims, hosts or something else. For the first case's crucified victims and moth hosting, see Crucifixion MO and Moth life cycle; no episode ties them to these figures. (Radford Horrors 01)
