Description

Yusuf is weary and defeated, in a borrowed T-shirt and sweatpants when first met in custody. He lives alone in a trailer with a landline; he looks at Dante with disgust when asked if he has a cell phone, since he cannot afford one. He mentions that the dating market for Sikhs in Utah is "not so good," and he is deeply afraid of immigration trouble (Walkers 06).

History

The false confession

In Walkers 05 a young Roosevelt officer, who says he does not want to go back to "the burger hut," leaks that a local junkyard owner has a car crusher, a magnetic crane, several grand-theft-auto priors and no alibi. Kurt Larson urges him to match the physical evidence before trusting any confession. The officer later phones to say the man has confessed; Andrew tells the others "I think the aliens coerced a guy into confessing."

In Walkers 06 Yusuf is brought out and repeats "No immigration. I crush the car. I'll pay for it." He cannot say what kind of car it was and agrees with everything, including when the Biz asks whether it was "the Buick" or "the Chrysler." Kurt eventually gets him to admit that he did not do it: his crusher does not flatten cars that much, and the police are "always threatening immigration." The police told him that if he confessed it would just be a fine. He says he spent part of the night on the landline complaining to his cousin about the electrical grid for at least thirty minutes, and that Jeopardy was on. When he learns Kurt is CIA, he groans, "Not the CIA. Not again." The police take him back into custody. See the Plymouth Voyager and Roosevelt Police Department.

The massacre

In Walkers 08 the party breaks Yusuf out of the cells of the Roosevelt police station, where he lay under a pile of bodies. He was shot through the shoulder blade, leaving him little use of his left arm, and someone cut off his little toe while he was unconscious. Huell patches the wound. Yusuf says the attackers were "just people... like families," naked and armed with shotguns, and that many cars drove away afterward. Andre's voice for him prompts Ezra to remark that he sounds Eastern European. Yusuf asks for a gun, takes a shotgun and follows the party. His refrain is "I hate it here so much." Kurt tells him: "Playing dead, you deserve an Emmy, my man." See skinwalkers.

He does not appear in the finale.
