Rudy Giuliani¶
Rudy Giuliani is the FBI Director in the campaign's alternate 1993, installed by President Ross Perot after William Sessions is fired, who puts Daniel Webster in charge of the task force and demands an "acceptable fact pattern" for the Radford case.

Description¶
Giuliani is a balding, dark-haired, lawyerly man with an expensive watch and a red tie. He introduces himself as "a lawyer from New York" with a long career in corruption investigation and a friend of the president for many years. He is new to the job and says so ("I'm still very new here"). When he walks out of his office, Kurt's player Dante reacts with "My God, it's Dick Cheney." Over the later episodes he is brisk and skeptical ("maybe they're legitimately insane") but not unfriendly toward Webster (Radford Horrors 01, Radford Horrors 04).
In this alternate timeline Andre describes him as an up-and-coming New York lawyer known for high-profile anti-corruption cases, with a flair for the dramatic (Radford Horrors 02). See Alternate history.
History¶
Radford Horrors 01¶
The team arrives at FBI headquarters the morning after finding signs of the Biz's abduction. The building is tense: in a corridor an acquaintance named Todd tells Kurtis that Perot fired Director Sessions about three hours earlier. Giuliani, appointed that morning at Perot's request, invites the team in and says Daniel Webster and he "came to an understanding" earlier. He explains that there are a number of missing people, that the original FBI task force sent to investigate has gone AWOL, and that Perot found its classified reports unacceptable while Sessions stood by their quality. The old team are to act as consultants under Webster's operational authority, "strictly there for informational purposes." Their goals are to establish what happened to the previous FBI team (see missing FBI task force) and, second, to establish an acceptable fact pattern for the previous investigation. The episode ends on his question "Now, what can you tell me about Radford, Virginia?" (Radford Horrors 01).

Radford Horrors 02¶
He does not appear. Andre recaps how Perot read the intelligence from the team's last case ("What the fuck is this? This says it was like a giant bug."), Sessions confirmed "it's a giant bug," and Perot fired him and appointed Giuliani. The priorities Giuliani gave the team are to find and recover the previous task force and to determine an acceptable fact pattern for the previous case. The team flies out about noon the next day (Radford Horrors 02).
Radford Horrors 03¶
After the standoff at the fenced Safe Environment Fund site, Giuliani calls Webster on a hospital hallway phone: "tell me about this thing with the fence." Webster claims probable cause and says the guard shot at them and one agent fired back. Giuliani warns that a Bivens lawsuit is expected, that the FBI is getting a retroactive warrant to avoid the "poison fruit" provision, that FBI counsel will decide whether the probable-cause claim is defensible, and that a formal reprimand is possible. Had they found the missing agents, he adds, it would be a different story. He asks whether the team wants to press charges against the guard who tased them, and mentions that the lawyers who contacted the FBI reported a spear gun (Radford Horrors 03). See Bivens lawsuit.
Radford Horrors 04¶
Webster calls him again. Giuliani recalls the spear gun and calls it reckless to run "lunatics in the field," then hears about the team's rabies treatment. He wants the missing FBI agents found in the next twenty-four hours, "dead or alive." Webster passes on the team's suspicions about the Safe Environment Fund and the missing people's letters about an addiction center in LA; Giuliani asks whether it is "Narcanon with an A or with an O" and says he already has a man looking into the fund (Radford Horrors 04). See Safe Environment Fund.
