Description¶
Lena is about six. She greets strangers by shouting "Strangers!" and hugging them, and after her coffee she answers a good deal with "Coffee." Her father warns visitors not to give her any (Summer Service 01). At the lighthouse she is serious, nods gravely and waves vigorously (Summer Service 03).
History¶
The Summer Service¶
The missing scientists' contact list names a "Lana Scott," which the team takes to be her. Her mother Irene Scott says she spent a couple of hours on a ventilator at the hospital in Salem and is back at school (Summer Service 01).
On the school field trip to the fort the day after the blast, Lena wandered to the beach and was found unconscious. Her symptoms were breathing trouble, vomiting, racing pulse, pinhole pupils, trembling, compulsive movements and sweating; she improved after about eight hours and was fine in a day or two. The scientists said it was not natural gas and planned toxin labs. Dante (as Kurt Larson) remarks that the symptoms match a stimulant or amphetamine overdose (Summer Service 01).
When the team visits the Scott home, she climbs into Andrew Howard's lap (Summer Service 01).
At the lighthouse she runs straight to Andrew and hugs him again, saying "Hi" and then telling him "I got an A in school for art." Her parents arrive and, after the team's warnings, take her home (Summer Service 03).
Trivia¶
- The transcribed contact list spells her name "Lana," while the Scott family and Andre say "Lena."
