Police walkie-talkie

The police walkie-talkie is a police-style radio with its transmit button taped down, left on a table just inside the lighthouse door, which the team treats as a bug or trap.

Type Item
Holder Kurt, who hid it in the team's car and later returned it to the lighthouse
First appearance Summer Service 03

Description

Kurt finally gets the chain on the lighthouse door open after a slow lock-picking effort. Huell reads a bad situation (10) and finds the building empty, but notices that someone has left a walkie-talkie with the button taped down on a little side table next to the door. He signals everyone to be silent. A further question confirms it is a police-style radio, the kind used by local departments. Every piece of glass inside the building is broken (Summer Service 03).

Properties

The team takes it for a bug or trap that would let someone listen to everything said at the door, and it deepens their suspicion of the town police. Kurt carries it out rather than disabling it (Summer Service 03). See Marblehead police.

History

  • Kurt carries the radio out and buries it under the blankets in the car (Summer Service 03).
  • Leaving the lighthouse in Summer Service 04, Kurt retrieves the walkie-talkie from the car and puts it back where it was, closing the door so the team can talk freely. As they step out, an observant team member catches the tail end of a squad car driving away (Summer Service 04).
  • The episodes never reveal who was listening.

Not the car bug

The team had separately found a spy radio hidden in their own car before Summer Service 03. The players treat the two as different bugs.
