Description¶
Miguel runs a street stand about a quarter mile outside the athletes' compound. He sells a hot dog in a taco shell with spicy cheese, remarkably fresh tomatoes and pico de gallo, at a dollar apiece. (Philosopher's Fist)
History¶
Derk and Mirabeth land beside the stand after the wall jump, catching Miguel mid-drop with a hot dog in his tongs. He greets them with "Hola, señor" and a stiff welcome. Mirabeth gives Derk the cash to hand over, and Derk passes Miguel a hundred-dollar bill. Miguel, who is honest, empties the cart to pile up 98 hot dogs and returns $2. Derk tries to give the $2 back for more, but Miguel refuses ("Sir, sir, no, no more, no") and wheels his cart away, dry-heaving as Derk eats them all. (Philosopher's Fist)
The $2 later pays for Derk's video call from Wisukonshin.
