Description¶
The mouse is foaming, stiff-legged and jerky in its movements (Radford Horrors 02). The table calls it a mouse and, more often later, "the rat."
History¶
At about three in the morning in the Pay n' Stay, the mouse crawls up Daniel Webster's stomach. He flicks it off with his gun barrel (Kick Some Ass 9, a mixed result), and it bites him through his shirt on the nipple for 1 harm. Kurt Larson rolls a 10 and spears it to the floor with his spear gun. Andrew Howard pulls the spear from the floor, and Huell later picks the remains off it. (Radford Horrors 02)
Charm, the teenage clerk, arrives and admits a rodent problem: the motel's bat infestation gives the mice rabies. She offers the team their money back and says she does not sleep there herself. See Charm. (Radford Horrors 02)
In Radford Horrors 03 the team shares a patient room in the Radford ER. The doctor says, "Rabies, huh? All right, give me the rat," and Kurt hands over the harpoon with the rat still on it, in a plastic bag. There is no local DFA test, so the animal goes to Roanoke, which also supplies the HDCV vaccine. RIG begins at once: IV for everyone but Webster, who gets about twenty shots around his gumball-sized, hot nipple after a scrub and iodine soak. The treatment stops if the rat tests negative; otherwise the vaccine series is four shots, every Tuesday for four weeks. (Radford Horrors 03) The treatment sets off Andrew's alien dad dream and his feverish reaction.
In Radford Horrors 04, Andre's recap and the team's own talk mention the mouse only as the reason everyone is on rabies treatment (Radford Horrors 04).
What remains unknown¶
The DFA result is pending as of Radford Horrors 03,. The episodes never report the result. (Radford Horrors 03)
Trivia¶
- Kurt had been sleeping with the spear gun beside him and fires it from his bed. (Radford Horrors 02)
- Kurt insists the harpoon is "a piece of sporting goods equipment" and "not a weapon" (Radford Horrors 03).
