Radford Arsenal¶
The Radford Arsenal is the military plant in Radford, Virginia, where Liam Lucky does classified work and which local legend blames for cursing the town.

Description¶
The Arsenal is never seen. It is mentioned only as the local military facility in a town Andre describes as "offensively quaint": a "Population 16,000" sign, colonial-revival kitsch, train tracks and a river that make it look like a model railroad town (Radford Horror 01). No scene takes place there.
History¶
Liam Lucky's classified work¶
When Huell Kendrick talks to Liam Lucky apart from his wife, Liam makes a slightly odd mention of his job. Pressed, he says he works for the Arsenal on something classified that he cannot discuss (Radford Horror 01). The team does not link his work to Amanda's disappearance. See Lucky house.
The armory curse¶
The clerk at the Pay n' Stay, later named Rutherford, warns the team that people go missing, that there are lights in the sky, and that there are "people walking around this place [who] haven't even been born." He adds that his father believed the town was cursed "because the armory down there made the guncotton for the atom bomb" (Radford Horror 01).
What remains unknown¶
The nature of Liam's classified project, and whether the Arsenal has any real connection to the Radford phenomena, are never resolved. The Arsenal does not come up in The Radford Horrors.
Trivia¶
- The word "armory" also describes the basement arsenal of the task force's barbershop headquarters, which is Kurt Larson's "armory" from character creation. It is a different thing from the Radford Arsenal (Radford Horror 01).
