USS Oklahoma City¶
USS Oklahoma City is a US Navy attack submarine seen in the cold open of the Summer Service finale, where its crew fire on the glowing sea creature off Marblehead.

Description¶
The submarine appears only in the "A few seconds from now" half of the episode's intercut cold open. Its sonar operator, Davy, swears the bogey went onto land, then reports a small explosion like a grenade, followed by "the craziest sound I've ever heard". Andre explains at the table that the explosion is presumably the claymore the team set off on the truck (Summer Service 06).
Events aboard¶
The captain, who is drinking coffee, orders a single ping to see whether the bogey is sitting still. It is back, making the crazy noise and closing at 60 to 70 knots. He declares he is done with "this spooky shit", orders a full about turn and has the tubes flooded and everything conventional fired at it. The weapons station reports multiple positive contacts, then the sonar operator whispers "80 knots" and the show cuts to credits (Summer Service 06).

Later, the radio contact tells the team the creature is chasing one of their submarines. When Andrew reports in, Big Bill says there was an attack on the plant "and we lost one of our submarines too" (Summer Service 06). In Summer Service 04 Big Bill had said he was retasking a Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine to look at the situation off Marblehead (Summer Service 04).
What remains unknown¶
It is never stated that the lost submarine is the Oklahoma City, or that the Oklahoma City is the boat Big Bill retasked, or whether the captain and Davy survived.
