Description¶
Harold is a sad-looking teenager at the Blockbuster register. The employee area where he lets the team work smells of weed and has a tiny VHS-player television. He watches chemtrail documentaries with his uncle, and gives his name only as "They call me Harold." (Radford Horrors 04)
History¶
Kurt wanted the diner security tape copied because magnetic media is fragile. At Blockbuster, a sweat-soaked Andrew (who kept asking "Is it bright in here?" and told Harold, "I wouldn't worry about me. I don't think it's contagious. It might be rabies.") showed his badge. Harold warned them off the Pay n' Stay, with its rabid mice, recommended the Ferry Lodge and offered DayQuil. He let them use the back-room TV, and they photographed the footage and copied the tape. Kurt hid the backup in an evidence bag in a hollow tree twenty minutes' walk into the woods, rather than at the store (Radford Horrors 04).
While Andrew explained the Aetherius Society to him, Harold said that he had once seen a homeless man dragged into a van while he was closing up, and agreed that a ponytailed man may have been involved. He had given the man a sandwich a month and a half or two months earlier. The team connected this to Billy Thornton, who claimed to have been kidnapped by chimps and "John Travolta", and to the gray van crew, one of whom has a ponytail (Radford Horrors 04).
Trivia¶
- Harold complains that an old woman rents Saturday Night Fever every day and returns it unrewound; she has burned out eight copies. The table followed up with "Does she have a ponytail?", feeding the Travolta and ponytail running gags (Radford Horrors 04).
