The Chief of Police is the hostile, bloated head of the Marblehead police and a member of the Marblehead Board of Selectmen.

Description¶
The chief is bloated, with the near-translucent skin that marks the advanced stage of the town's sickness; see The glow. He glares at the team on arrival and then at Jester (Summer Service 04).
History¶
The Summer Service¶
At the 6:30 p.m. selectmen's meeting in the town hall, the chief sits in one of the eleven plaque-marked chairs and glares at the team. He refuses Kurt Larson's request to smoke. Andre describes the room as hostile but sincere fanatics. The team debates arresting the chief for concealing evidence (Summer Service 04).
When Dante (as Kurt) asks about the melted, glassy shoreline, the chief goes very still. The mayor suggests lightning or dynamite fishing, asks where the team saw it, and tells "Jimmy" to look into it (Summer Service 04). See Melted shoreline.
Earlier in the episode, as the team left the lighthouse, Andrew caught the tail end of a police car driving away. The episodes do not link the chief personally to it (Summer Service 04).
Trivia¶
- His first name, Jimmy, matches Carter's; the episodes do not connect the two.
